Time flying
3 flights, 3 movies: Wicked 1 & 2 and the second part of Sinners. Have you seen them? What did you think?? I liked all three! For the same and different reasons: the music! And the acting! And the endings! I can say no more. NO SPOILERS.
Josh warned me about those spoiler trailers. The other day I was sitting in a bar (one of the few open due to ley seca and the first round of Colombian presidential elections…WOW, don’t get me started on those results1 SMH), nervously watching the Spurs outlast the Thunder in Game 7, and the new Minions movie trailer came on the pirated stream. The “trailer” just kept going; it was long! It showed so many moments of the movie. I had to avert my eyes. Ugh. Why?!?! Just show me a 20 second teaser. Let me watch the movie at the cinema! Luckily, I either never saw or did not remember the trailers for Wicked & Sinners…thank the LORD.
My God, it has been 15 years since we graduated college, yet some old friends looked exactly the same (black don’t crack); others had grayed or balded (black do bald…sometimes); many had kids (along with the first-year-fifteen right around the midsection that I’m still trying to lose going into my baby’s third birthday…sheesh); a few had a third child on the way; others were trying and hoping. Of course, there were doctors and lawyers and more than a few writers! We talked; many danced to those oldies but goodies…?
15 years rehashed in 15 hours over food and drink under a tent to keep out the rain. I was nervous that it would be all crowing; instead, there was a lot of laughing. What a relief that we’ve grown older yet remain young. Coming back together was a reminder of the dreamers that we were, a reminder to dream on.
